Can I combine multiple Spectrum accounts

I have a Spectrum account for my house in FL. I recently purchased a house in GA and when I enrolled for Spectrum internet service at the GA house a new Spectrum account was created. I will be selling the FL house in the near future and discontinuing the Spectrum service at that location. I would like to retain access to my Spectrum FL email accounts.

Is it possible to combine the 2 accounts to retain access to my FL email accounts or can the FL email accounts be connected to my GA Spectrum account?

    Hi & welcome!

This is a great question and I am glad you are asking before any changes were made. Sounds like you are aware that email is a free service that is part of an active internet subscription, and once the account is closed, access to email is restricted and then the email is eventually purged, usually within 60 days.

I was able to locate your accounts using your registration information. The short answer about transferring your Florida email to the Georgia account is no, it is not possible. Here's why; the Florida email is in a legacy Brighthouse area with roadrunner email (@cfl.rr.com domain) and your new location in Georgia is a legacy Charter area (@charter.net) and the only current available domain is @spectrum.net. In order to transfer email, all top level domains must match, and need to be in the same geographic area identified by the rr.com domain. So, if you were opening a new account near the Florida home, and transferring service, it would be possible. Many of the legacy email tools used to manage the various rr.com email domains have been decommissioned, and while rr.com emails still work, there are limited options regarding transfers and repairing mailboxes. Last, email is no longer offered to new accounts, so the Georgia location would be ineligible for email service, since it is technically a new account.

There are basically two option at this point. The first option, and the easiest, would be to use a third party email client to download a copy of either all emails or just the important ones you want to save while you still have access to the @clf.rr.com email. This would give you a copy for future reference. You can also copy contacts and add them to a different email service, as well as notify them of the email address change.

The second option is a little more complicated and would involve transferring your @cfl.rr.com email to a trusted friend or family member who also has a @cfl.rr.com email domain and active internet services. Once transferred, the email will remain active as long as they keep their account open. Since the Florida account has been open for quite some time, I imagine there are years worth of emails. If you choose the second option, you will need to call in get the process started so you can be verified and authenticated and the request will need to be escalated to be completed. There is also a transfer component that usually involves stopping at a store along with the person the email is being transferred to and showing your ID as well as signing a couple authorizing documents.

Let us know if you have any other questions and best of luck with your move!
