Netgear CM2500 – Firmware v6.01.02 Causing Constant Disconnects

This is the same issue as the thread that was closed on August 27th. The firmware issue has not been resolved by spectrum and netgear.

Thread:

I have contacted netgear and they said to contact spectrum. Contacted spectrum they said to contact netgear.

Ever since Spectrum upgraded my cm2500 modem to the latest firmware last night 9/8/25, now my modem reboots non stop in a boot loop.

Upload and download lights blinking simultaneously and then the modem logs keep showing SW Download Init - via NWS. Once that line is logged the modem reboots itself and cycles that process over and over infinitely.

Netgear told me that it is a firmware issue from the ISP and that it needs to be rolled back to version 5 by spectrum.

Can I please get an update on why the thread was closed when the issue with this firmware version hasn't been resolved yet? and when Spectrum plans to resolve this issue?

The issue presumably was resolved with the CM3000. Pure speculation but i take it that it may be the same story with other models as well and maybe this will help and don't overlook the third paragraph and do be as patient as you've a mind to:
