Cable Card pairing issue

I've had a cable card with a HD Homerun Prime that has worked great for a number of years. Unfortunately, a power outage a couple of weeks ago fried the cable card. Since these are being retired, it is very difficult to get a replacement from Spectrum in my area (Dallas/Fort Worth). A tech came out (without a cable card even though I very clearly told the phone support person they needed to bring a cable card or it would be a wasted trip) and said they aren't even allowed to have them and the best I could do would be going to a Spectrum store to see if they had one in the back somewhere. None of the ones I went to did. I asked the tech about buying one from EBAY and would Spectrum be able to activate it. He said they should be able to. I took this route, plugged it in and everything was looking promising until the Cable Card person tried to pair it. She said the cable card serial number was not in their inventory and she could not get it paired. Does anyone know if there is a way to get this cable card paired? I would think the serial number could just be added into inventory and added to my account to replace the one that is no longer functional.

Since I originally posted this, I've had three separate tech visits. One was a supervisor who knows a lot about cable cards. Unfortunately, the end result is still negative, although for a different reason. The first cable cards that were brought out were not able to be paired for some reason. The supervisor came out and replaced that cable card with a different one. After about 40 minutes, he was able to get it paired. Unfortunately, it would not detect any channels. Another tech came out the following week with two new cable cards. I noticed that when each was inserted into the HD Homerun prime, the "Conditional Access" showed "yes". However, when the card gets paired, the "Conditional Access" changes to "no". This is the reason it will not detect any channels. Essentially indicating the card is not authorized to receive the channels on my account. Thus far nobody has been able to figure this out. It is still being worked on though.

I am suspicious of the date for your cable card issue. Both of my Cable cards stopped working on about March 15th. Support nor a service tech that came out has been able to resolve the issue. I was told a cable box will work ( I picked up a DVR and it works). I think my Cable Card issue is related to the High Split upgrade. I read in another forum that legacy TWC areas were to begin the HS upgrade on March 15th. Now I am trying to figure out how to get a High Split Converter.

I had to get a HIgh Split Converter back in the Fall. One day none of the channels flagged as DRM would tune in. I think I just called the Cable Card line and they sent me a High Split Converter to replace my Tuning Adapter. I don't recall if I had to call them after I self installed it to get it paired with my cable card, but it resolved the problem.
