Hello @slough! Welcome to the Community.
You'll definitely just want to make sure to test out the VPN prior to leaving the country. Set up would depend on the specific VPN you're using but once you have it downloaded most come with a step by step installation guide. Once you have it installed try logging in to the VPN to verify that you can access your email and navigate the internet without any issue.

Hello,
I will soon travel outside the USA and would like to send email from my charter.net address. I have seen the suggestion to use a VPN to do this. I have a VPN app loaded on my laptop and use Outlook for email. How do I set up the VPN to accomplish my goal?
Dave
Heather_T,
It would be difficult to test a VPN for my situation without being outside the USA. I was in Europe about two weeks ago and loaded a recommended and popular VPN. I aimed the VPN at a connection in Chicago. I was still unable to send charter.net email.
Installation of the VPN was quick and easy. I don't recall any options besides choosing the location of the VPN server.
What settings should I be looking for?
Thanks, Dave
