Why am I hearing that some of my Disney-owned TV channels, including ESPN, may go away?
Spectrum needs to make sure they continue offering ESPN, ABC, and the ACC Network as part of their package. I understand there is a possibility, via negotiations, that Spectrum may not renew these services.

Hi & Welcome!
Spectrum is on your side and fighting to keep costs down while protecting and maximizing customer choice.
The rising cost of programming is the single greatest factor in higher cable TV prices, and we are fighting hard to hold the line on programming rates imposed on us by companies like Disney.

Oh NO, Disney is threatening us with pulling their programming. GOOD- They haven't done anything worth watching in years. Thank them for saving us the trouble of canceling them. The news would actually be more of a threat if they were worth watching.

After the latest update of the Spectrum TV Mobile App for Android. I don't see how you can set/record your DVR away from home. I have the Spectrum Guide World Box so I was limited on DVR Manger but there was a option to setup a recording. Now after the App updates there is zero option why is this? Are DVRS not as popular as they oune were because you have so much streaming? Or is it because Spectrum wants the App to be 100% entertainment?
A word on the App and DVR Manger. Like I said my Box's is a Word Box with the Spectrum Guide. The DVR Manger is not compatible( reference code (Disabled DRDV-1000) with the World Box's or the Guide or DVR I am not sure. But my point is if these devices and guides are to future shouldn't everything work with them. This could be why I can't find a option to set a recording. But this brings me back to my question I had before. Are DVRS popular still and does Spectrum know video service dead and there is not a lot more they can do in the video market to make money? That's might be why they are in no rush to fix compatibility issues?

Good riddance! Disney has done nothing but disregard and disrespect the majority of the general population. They have stabbed all their supporters in the back, time and again. May their greed, arrogance, and endless brain washing lead them to ruin. Be a good parent, and don't let them watch Disney for any reason, and explain to them why.

Yes those channels are gone at my house now. It is the customers who loses no matter what the outcome. Will our price for cable tv go down without those channels? No! A few years ago the Comet channel was gone and has not come back and my bill did not go down. There was another channel I liked to watch that went away and has not come back and again my bill did not go down but went up. Businesses need to stop being greedy and think of the customers and help us by lowering prices and stop thinking of their wallets.

I could care less about Disney but pulling ESPN just as a college football game is starting is BS. Why are we only hearing about this now? And nice try Spectrum... directing customers to their preferred provider Fubo
Don't play the victim... do something about it. Guess this is why everyone is cutting the cord!

Of course they pull the plug right before college football starts to have leverage. Really dirty. And absurd that Spectrum provides links to ESPN/Disney executives but not their own executives. Yea, right. Poor poor Spectrum. It's all Disney's fault. We pay for a channel line up and agree to your pricing, if you can't produce the line up for the agreed price that is on you. You don't get to just take away a channel or charge more or act like there is nothing you can do. I am sure all your execs are taking pay cuts to make sure the customers get what they paid for, right?
How can we contact Sprctrum executives?

Is this Spectrum’s excuse for raising prices? Spectrum already monopolizes cable/internet to the point that the customer basically has no where else to go. I’m fed up!

So, Spectrum raises how much we pay for sports channels beginning with this bill, but can't come to an agreement with Disney? Excuse me? Sure you want to keep our bills low, but raising the rate and then not dealing in good faith with Disney? I saw nothing about this in my bill. What a shock when I went to watch the UF vs. Utah game to find out that ESPN is no longer in my line up! Spectrum, you should be ashamed of yourself over this! Since I just watched ESPN a couple of nights ago, AND that ABC is still currently on, all you're getting is a country full of very angry customers. Take off that $2.00 from my bill.
Did anyone else see where this was coming? I saw nothing in my bill, nothing on tv, nothing in the news. Thanks, Spectrum. NOT.

Don’t feed us this “we are on your side” garbage and then request us to do your dirty work by contacting ESPN’s parent company.
How much is my account going to be credited for each hour ESPN is not available?

Never heard a thing about this until we sat down to watch college football tonight . This is ridiculous

Disney owns ESPN and ESPN2, which is apparently news to half the commenters here. Fine, don't watch the Disney channel or their streaming service, but sports is a wholly separate beast. Without many alternatives for live sports broadcasts, I have to question whether Spectrum still makes sense for my household. Just get your best negotiators in there and have both parties come up with a compromise, and leave us subscribers the few hours of positive television escapism we look forward to each week.

This is ridiculous! They knew about this coming as I know someone who works there I just didn’t believe them. There is definitely grounds for a class action lawsuit if this persists more than today. I pay well over $330 for cable/internet when I can cheat and do it all for a third of that. They want us to feel sorry for them not coming to a deal? This is half your user base with sports and football. What cheap asses. Spectrum at fault. Don’t blame Disney. You are about to lose a ton of people before Saturday for good. This is so lame. Prob some librarian in charge of negotiations with Disney.

Thank you Spectrum for ruining my weekend. If this isn’t resolved by 5:00 Saturday Spectrum is gone.

All I can say is that Spectrum is pathetic. My service goes out at least a quarter of the time. Then they send me a letter advising they are going to eliminate about 40 channels (ones that I watch regularly). In addition, they will add about 12 channels, most of which I have never heard of and have no desire to watch. Now, out of the blue, Spectrum drops all my ESPN channels without any notice. You guys are truly scum bags!!!

This will be the end of Spectrum as we know it if it lasts more than 24 hours. May be a blessing to just do the cheaper cable route like everyone else. I was just paying more so stuff like this wouldn’t happen. Total scam Spectrum and trying the sympathy route too. Cry me a river

I hope Spectrum doesn't pay them another penny than they already do. 1. They have already cut/lost a good deal of the good announcers and talent. 2. They don't have the Big Ten anymore. 3. Already charge more than most other media outlets.
3 -
You pull ESPN and all Disney networks the weekend that College Football starts! Brilliant business decision. Because of the cost? It's going to cost you a lot more in revenue if you keep this BS up. I know as far as my account goes, it better be back by Saturday or you lose this customer.

I have disliked Spectrum from the day they came to town. Now they pull this garbage and we are caught in the middle of their negotiations. I am watching the US Open, great matches and the plug is pulled. So upset.
I have to really question why I have Spectrum at all. I have a landline, something I really don't need. My HOA has negotiated with a new service provider for internet which is cheaper, so I will be getting rid of that. They will, also, offer mobile phone services, so I can take advantage of that, especially since I am paying the $49.99 rate and can't get the $29.99 rate being advertised all day because Spectrum prefers new customers over existing customers. Almost gone Spectrum and that just leaves TV. Conventional wisdom these days is that it is stupid to pay for cable and now I have come to that conclusion. I can get everything I want elsewhere and don't need Spectrum and now I am really motivated to do so. Plus, my bill just went up with no explanation. I should be getting a reduction based on this fiasco with ESPN. I guess you just aren't a very big dog, Spectrum. Crooks in ties.

As a customer I do not appreciate being thrown under the bus every time there is a contract dispute with a provider. It is especially galling when Charter Spectrum has a monopoly in most communities. I will be contacting my Public Service Commission to file a formal complaint. I bought a package of services which included that which you have now withdrawn due to your spat. Work it out. This is bad customer service.
15 -
I agree about the timing… also my Spectrum package includes 7 or more channels which are now blocked! Is Spectrum going to issue a credit?
14 -
Dear Spectrum
I urge you to hold fast against this money grab. Disney makes more than enough from all it’s businesses Asking for more from cable subscribers will only hasten viewers leaving cable altogether and that means less money for the likes of Disney anyway
3 -
I pay Spectrum - NOT Disney. I hold Spectrum 100% responsible for my dissatisfaction and for my immediate purchase of Disney +

It is college football season

It is college football season. This is terrible timing. How much will my bill be lowered if I have to subscribe to an extra service?
8 -
ESPN is ultimately the one who pulled the plug on the programming. They are the ones who want to charge more for less.

If the ESPN channels aren’t back on by tomorrow, goodbye Spectrum and my $300 a month cable bill.
Great customer service, no notice.
You showed how much you care about your customers!

Hey guys. The folks at Spectrum have lost their minds. If you check out Fubo, which is where they are directing you, the prices are lower for the same services that Spectrum provides. So even if Disney and Spectrum work out a deal, why not switch to Fubo or DirectTV Streaming if you can get the same channels for less money? I’ve already signed up.
